The Aquarium Open Water Swim or the Coney Island Aquarium Triple Dip Swim (Coney Island Triple Dip or Triple Dip) is part of the NY Aquarium Open Water Swim Series hosted by the Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (CIBBOWS), a 501(c)3 non-profit group dedicated to being a community resource for open water swimmers of all levels.

It is one of America's Top 100 Open Water Swims.

CIBBOWS

This includes providing regular group swims at Brighton Beach & Coney Island from April to November and helping maintain/improve the water quality in New York City. As several members are experienced, long distance swimmers, CIBBOWS provides guidance and resources on training for swims across the English Channel, Manhattan Island Marathon Swim (MIMS), Long Island Sound, Catalina Channel and other challenging races.

CIBBOWS offers three main activities: Group swims for the public, which are free; swim races for the public and club members; and water quality projects related to improving New York City's beaches, rivers and harbor.

NY Aquarium Open Water Swim Series

CIBBOWS organizes the NY Aquarium Open Water Swim Series that includes the 2 Bridges Swim Under the Walkway, a 2.5 km and 5 km swim in June, 8 Bridges Hudson River Swim, an 8-day stage swim down the Hudson River in June, Grimaldo's Mile in July, and the Aquarium 1 Mile, 5K & 10K in September.
