Jim Toomey

James Toomey created the inaugural 22.5 miles (36.2 km) Atlantic City Around the Island Swim, a 22.5-mile (36.2 km) circumnavigation race around Absecon Island in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The professional marathon swim was inspired by Ed Solitare and Ed “Dutch” Stetser, two local American lifeguards who first swam around Absecon Island in Atlantic City.
