Lisa Batey, an American athlete, coach and sports massage therapist in Tokyo

Lisa Batey is an American pool and open water swimmer and coach living in Kanagawa, Japan. The New York State-licensed sports massage therapist trains in Hayama and regularly participates in the Japan International Open Water Swimming Association events throughout Japan.

Coaching Career

She is a U.S. Masters Swimming and American Swimming Coaches Association level 2 pool coach. She is a former coach at Team NY Aquatics with Conrad Johnson, Bonnie Schwartz and Janet Harris. She is currently coaching an English-speaking open water swimming pod in Hayama, Japan.

Batey works at Club 360 near Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.

Tsugaru Channel Relay Crossing

Aleisha Riboldi (Australia), Lisa Batey and Youri Lavoine (France) completed a 3-person relay across the Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido in northern Japan in 18 hours 29 minutes 32 seconds on 20 July 2018.
