Open Water Swimming Highlights
- She was a member of the unprecedented 6-day Bering Strait Swim relay, a 53-mile (86 km) relay crossing from Cape Dezhnev in Chukotka, Russia, to Cape Prince of Wales in the state of Alaska, USA in 2013.
- She was a member of the unprecedented 5-person 50 km relay across Lake Baikal in Siberia together with Oleg Dokuchaev, Pavel Komarov, Eugene Zozulya, and Andrey Bugay on 4-5 August 2020 in 16 hours 11 minutes.
- She won the 2013 World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year as part of the Bering Strait Swim in a global poll managed by the World Open Water Swimming Association.
- She participated in the 75 km Amur River Swim relay swim held in the Amur River on 23 June 2020 that was devoted to the 75th anniversary of The Great Patriotic War in Russia together with Oleg Dokuchaev, Ivan Dokuchaev, Oksana Beletskaya, Dmitry Voronin, Aleksander Komarov, Aleksey Balykov, Zaur Zakrailov, and Zelimkhan Istambulov, finishing in Khabarovsk, Russia.
- She participated in the Peter the Great Gulf Swim, a 160 km circumnavigation swim relay around the Empress Eugénie Archipelago in Far East Russia on 16-18 July 2020 that was performed in honor of the 160th anniversary of Vladivostok together with Oleg Dokuchaev, Ivan Dokuchaev, Eugene Zozulya, Pavel Komarov, Oksana Beletskaya, Veronika Kuznetsova, Igor Galaktionov, Alexander Smirnov, Sergey Tyurin, Dmitry Voronin, Ratmir Voronin, Zaur Zakrailov, Andrey Bugai, Tatiana Aleksandrova, and Oleg Adamov; the Governor of Primorsky region Oleg Kozhemyako swam the first 200 meters.
- She participated in the Russky Round Swim, a 75 km circumnavigation swim around Russky Island located in the south of Vladivostok, Russia on 20 September 2020 that was devoted to the 75th anniversary of the end of the World War II together with Oleg Dokuchaev, Ivan Dokuchaev, Pavel Komarov, Ivan Albutov, Sergey Tyurin, Alexey Balykov, Aleksander Komarov, Alexey Sorokopud, Leonid Sorokopud, Dmitry Voronin, Dmitry Voronin Jr., Dolgiy Valery, and Tatiana Aleksandrova.

2013 World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year
2020 WOWSA Awards
The Lake Baikal Relay Eco-Crossing was nominated for the 2020 WOWSA Awards in the World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year category with the following nomination: Russian swimmers Oleg Dokuchaev, Maria Chizhova, Pavel Komarov, Eugene Zozulya from Vladivostok and Andrey Bugay from Irkutsk crossed Lake Baikal that holds 20% of all drinking water on Planet Earth. Situated in the southern part of the Eastern Siberia, the quintet of Russian swimmers completed the 50 km course in 16 hours 11 minutes from Vydrino, Buryatia in 30-minute rotations as the water temperature fell from 14°C to 12°C and the air temperature dropped to 5°C and the winds picked up. Conditions continued to get worse until the water sunk to 5°C over the final 2 km, ending in Listvyanka, Irkutsk where the coldest water from the depths flow out to the Angara River. For dealing with increasingly colder and tougher over the entire 15-hour ordeal, for maintaining a high level of mutual support and focus while repeatedly handling the back-to-back immersions in cold water, and for completing an unprecedented relay crossing of the deepest lake in the world, the unprecedented Lake Baikal Relay Eco-Crossing by Oleg Dokuchaev, Maria Chizhova, Pavel Komarov, Eugene Zozulya, and Andrey Bugay of Russia is a worthy nominee for the 2020 World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year.
