He is escorted by his father Santosh Raut, Chairman of the Long Distance Swimming Association of India and an international representative of the Channel Swimming Association.

2. Spain – 14 km - Strait of Gibraltar crossing in 3 hours 28 minutes from Tarifa on 8 August 2009, noted as the 2nd fastest Asian male and youngest swimmer in 2009 at the age of 16
3. Switzerland – 26.2 km - finished 15th in the Lake Zurich Marathon Swim in Switzerland on 26 July 2009, noted as the youngest swimmer finishing in 9 hours 13 minutes 5 seconds
